January 14th found a core group braving the single digit temperatures to come to our meeting – we are quite the hearty group! And just to prove the point, we are going to “try” to get a winter fishing trip organized! Ahhhh…….here’s to frozen guides on the rods! But how good is that hot chocolate or whatever bracing beverage afterwards?
We were delighted to welcome two spankin’ new members to the meeting, Diane Barton and Mary Faini – welcome!
Tanner from St. Pete’s gave us a very good fly tying demo of one of his favorite patterns which got us all enthused about getting going on some tying during these cold, frozen waters, winter months. Thanks, Tanner!
We will again make an effort to have a good showing at our local TU Flycasters meeting this month since we had such a good turnout in November. They were delighted to have The Ladies and really have some great speakers!
Our next meeting will be February 11 at St. Pete’s south location and our program will be a film by Joan Wulff. Now THAT should ramp up our casting for spring. You might want to catch this one; Cindy Sampson is bringing eggless breakfast burritos – yum! See you then! —
