Dates: July 18, 2020

POC: Cyndy Sholtz, cyndyscholz@msn.com, 303-507-3068

Skill Level: All

Location: Clinton Reservoir is located about 7 miles south of Copper Mountain on Hwy 91 on the way to Climax Mine/Freemont Pass/Leadville

Meet Location: South parking lot, which is the 2nd parking lot that you will come to as you drive over the dam on Hwy 91.

Meet Time: Meet at 10 am

Map/Directions: Take I-70 west to the Copper Mountain exit (Hwy 91)  Head south towards Leadville/Freemont Pass but don’t as far as Leadville

  • It is an easy/moderate hike on either side of the lake, and you can stop anywhere along the shores to fish.  Bring your wading stick as it can be muddy towards the inlet.
  • Be aware that it is illegal to fish the inlet stream at the very eastern edge of the lake (due to spawning cutthroat). But interesting to see them, if you get to the end of the lake.
