Speaker Bio: April Archer

As a Colorado native, April fishes with tenacity and finesse, and she cherishes the access to beautiful public lands and water. April’s Dad taught her to fish when she was a toddler, and she has fly-fished since 2000. Today, she loves to fish with her husband, JT, and their 3 daughters, who are gaining enthusiasm as fly anglers. Some of her favorite experiences include Denver’s front range trout, the Colorado mountains’ trout species, Wyoming’s rivers and Snowy Range brook, rainbow, cutthroat and brown, Mexico’s big saltwater species, Patagonia Chile’s sea run brown trout, and fishing for warm-water species such as bass and crappie. Really, she’ll fish anywhere and she’s known for saying, “I’d fish that” — even in obscure or unfished watersheds.

April’s professional experience includes research/marketing in Deloitte’s international tax department, directing the University of Denver’s Wellness Living & Learning Community, and owning/operating her photography business. She has been leading SaraBella Fishing as the CEO, founder, and majority owner since 2014.

She earned a Master of Arts in international studies from the University of Denver, is passionate about economics and health/wellness, and has served on the boards of directors for CO Active, Colorado Women Flyfishers, HealthBridge, the Lowry Business Alliance, and at present the Able Women Foundation. Recently, April earned a Certificate in International Trade from the World Trade Center to support SaraBella’s international trade developments. In the Spring of 2018, SaraBella Fishing earned the Colorado Manufacturer Award for Consumer/Lifestyle Business.

April believes in the importance of conservation efforts and inspiring new fly anglers to participate in this great sport — for fun, for physical and mental well-being, and for the power of outdoor adventure. She is passionate about hiring Veterans and Survivors and believes that great products are made by great humans. “For me, fly-fishing is a spiritual experience of gratitude, persistence, patience, humility, thrill, and beauty. It brings perspective, joy, and adventure.”  -April Archer
