CWF has a trip planned for this later in the season. Suzy can provide intel for members who are signed up for the trip, and her presentation will likely persuade many more of us to sign up! You will love Suzy's passion about this area and about fly fishing in general. From Suzy: I am so excited to speak about one of my favorite rivers and to meet you all in October!!

My story starts with learning to love the outdoors as a child in Denver and moving to New Mexico when I was 5. I then moved away to attend college, explore the world of professional tennis player and coach, and then pursue a career as a corporate trainer. While returning to Colorado to attend my cousin's wedding in Steamboat, I was introduced to fly fishing by my dad on the Yampa River. That day, and many subsequent adventures with my dad, led me deep into the world of fly fishing, and I now spends as much time as possible on the San Juan River where my dad was a guide.

I enjoy sharing my journey of fly fishing, the challenges faced by women entering the world of fly fishing, introducing women and children to the sport, and of course the ever-changing challenge of fishing the San Juan River.

I average 230+ days on the Juan and have taken many groups of women out to learn the river. I have made some great friends, many of whom have come back yearly. The Juan is a special river and can have its challenges: good and not so good.

Get your questions ready and let’s have some fun!

I am a member of the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Wildlife Federation and on the board for our local Bosque Trout Unlimited.
